Maria’s Summer Drink Review 🍸🍹🥂

Updated: Aug 8

Hi guys! I am back and ready to review 5 different summer drinks! Okay let’s just say I have been watching way too many shows where they all have some sort of drink in their hand during brunches, parties, dates, etc. So I have been dying to try out some non-alcoholic drinks to spice up the last few days of summer.

  1. Strawberry Mocktail- This delicious mocktail was one of the best that I have had so far. The mixture of every ingredient creates this explosion of flavors that hydrate the body on a hot summer day. The ingredients are simply

  • Frozen strawberry juice in any form (cubes, chunks, container).

  • Frozen strawberries

  • Lime

  • Squirt

  • Grenadine

  • White syrup

A little tip for you guys is for the frozen strawberry JUICE. I would definitely try to put them in an ice cube mold or else you will end up like my friend and I with a huge chunk of frozen juice that was a little hard to work with. Don’t forget to add little decorations to your cup to spice up the looks and impress people with your bartender skills! I would rate this drink a solid 9/10!

  1. Cucumber Drink- Let me be straight up with you…this one is not the best but it can definitely be mastered…somehow. It is not that the drink COMPLETELY sucks, it is that it needs a kick in it, because right now the recipe I followed ended up tasting like NOTHING. I am serious, it tasted like I took a tiny bite out of a cucumber, a simple cucumber. The ingredients consist of

  • WHOLE Cucumber

  • Lemon

  • Lemon soda

  • Strips of cucumber for decoration

  • Tajin for decoration

Confidently I will give this drink a 4/10. It has potential to taste better but maybe with another recipe. The one thing I will say is that it is such a beautiful drink (besides the taste), I mean look at the craftsmanship I created for this drink..props to my friend and I!

  1. Sherly Temple- Everyone knows and loves this drink. It is the basic, the best, the original of all summer drinks out here. While my friend and I struggled with the frozen chunk of strawberry juice from the other drink we decided to take a break and make this easy and simple drink that we knew we would love. Ingredients consist of

  • Sprite

  • Grenade

  • Cherry for decoration (optional)

I think if I am ever in the mood for a quick and easy drink this will definitely be my go to! I love the mixture of sprite with a bit of cherry.

  1. Red fruits Mocktail- This drink is quite interesting. It isn’t BAD but it isn’t completely GOOD. It is one of those drinks that you take a sip and your taste buds get confused. They don’t know whether to approve of the drink or never ever again let you drink it. Another thing, this drink is way too complicated to make for a lazy teenager like me who wants to make simple yet unique drinks..why? Well here are the ingredients AND steps.

  • Dried hibiscus

  • Red fruits

  • Cranberries

Steps:

  1. Boil water

  2. Place dried hibiscus inside

  3. Let it soak in for about 10-15 minutes

  4. Drain it

  5. Let the infused hibiscus water cool down and add sugar

  6. Mix other ingredients and use blender

It isn’t that it is SUPER complicated but I feel like dried hibiscus isn’t something everyone would have lying around in their house..you know? I would rate this drink a 3/10 because it did turn out a little too bitter for my taste.

(We didn’t take pics with this one…)

  1. Cherry Cola Slushie- Icon. Legend. Let me present to you the cherry cola slushie drink. Okay another basic BUT infinitely delicious drink of life. I know you can always just buy Cherry Cola but something about the real frozen cherries mixed in with regular coke TASTES EVEN BETTER. Don’t worry, the recipe is another simple one.

  • Frozen cherries without the pit

  • Coca Cola

Everyone should try this and don’t forget to decorate this to give it a very Lana Del Rey feeling. I would rate this drink a 9/10! Easy, convenient, and very refreshing.

Only 13 days left before school starts and I am trying to keep my calm here! I hope you guys enjoyed my summer drink review and I encourage you guys to try them for yourself! Lots of love.

Bye Bye

XoXo, Maria E.V
