Hello guys! Long time no see…I have been so busy! Literally. From shows, rehearsals, classes, extra curricular activities and so on. But even if I am so busy that I haven’t had time to really sit down and BREATH, I still enjoy this. I enjoy the chaos of going from here to there to over here to over there and back. It fills me up with the sensation that I am actually doing something with my life. But besides that I had a hard time thinking about what I should write about today. Until it hit me, IT'S FEBRUARY. THE MONTH OF LOVE. What better way than to show you guys little handmade gift ideas for your significant other or even just your best friends and family. Hopefully my boyfriend isn’t reading this because one of them might be the one I am making for him…
The Lara Jean Covey Card
If I go back to 5th grade during Valentine’s day the only thing I will remember is watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before P.S I still love you. I had just gotten the flu and I was very much not happy about it. Why? The flu really hit me hard that week AND because Valentine’s day is my favorite day in the world…besides my birthday. Okay I am getting a little sidetracked, the point is when I was watching it I saw the cute little gift that Lara Jean made for Peter Kavinskey. It looks very complicated but trust me when I say it is actually really easy to make. All you need is colored paper preferably Valentine’s day colors like red, pink, light pink, white, and brown.
Basket of Love
Gifts in baskets have been a really big thing right now and I think that it’s genius. Not only does the person receiving the basket get to have good use of the basket but it’s a cute and accessible way to place things and be able to personalize it. My mom and I always make baskets for gifts…and the one thing we enjoy is making a theme, whether it is colors or the idea of what the basket contains. Is it a cooking basket? Is it an art basket? Is it a sporty basket? Of course in this case it is a Valentine’s day basket which is why I call it the Basket of Love. These kinds of baskets give you the freedom to place unique things for your partner or friend. By that I mean they could find the most hilarious little gift that makes them laugh and then they go for another grab and it’s the most meaningful and memorable gift that they hold. Make the basket an emotional rollercoaster!
Handmade Gifts
This one is for my people who are crafty. I love making gifts. It could be the most simple little gift that you make your significant other and you will make their day and lives 100% better, trust me it is the effort and thought that is put through making these kinds of gifts. There are so many different types of love letters you can create or many different shapes that stand out for your special someone. The most simple and easy would be paper flowers, one they last forever and two it's actually kind of fun to make them. Just use whatever paper you want and roll it up and repeat about 5 times depending on how big you want the flower. Just like all of the other gifts this can be unique and specialized. Which is something that I love so much about gifts, they spread love and share how much that person means to you. If you really think about it gifts hold secrets. By that I mean there is always a reason for the gift someone got you. Whether they saw the color and thought "Hey so and so loves light blue, I bet they'll love this", or "Hey this reminds me of the time we met, I bet they'll love it".
Valentine's Day is a day to spread only love and joy! Gifts are just a cute way to show that to other people, and trust me it doesn't matter what you get that person as long as you show them how you truly feel. I hope you guys have a great rest of your week and I pinky promise that I will write more often now that I am settling into my new routine.
Bye Bye
